Per Diem Staff Pharmacist | Pounding Mill, Virginia

A per diem opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to work Fridays from 9am to 5pm in a retail and compounding environment. This position primarily involves retail order verification using Pioneer RX with occasional non-sterile compounding checks that require proficiency in mathematical calculations related to formulas.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough checks of retail prescriptions with attention to accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Review non-sterile compounded preparations, ensuring formula precision and safety standards
• Utilize Pioneer RX system for order entry and verification
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain efficient daily workflow
• Uphold high standards of patient safety and medication accuracy

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia pharmacy license is required
• Proven experience in retail pharmacy settings
• Knowledge and experience in non-sterile compounding are advantageous
• Strong mathematical skills for formula verification
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
