A Staff Pharmacist position is available for a contract assignment from May 4 through August 1. This opportunity involves working 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts, within a hospital setting. The role requires careful review and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy, safety, and appropriateness according to patient needs and clinical protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all medication orders from physicians and physician extenders, verifying drug selection, dosage, frequency, and administration route.
  • Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results to identify any potential clinical conflicts prior to dispensing.
  • Manage medication inventory control to ensure availability and compliance.
  • Provide drug information and guidance to healthcare team members.
  • Supervise pharmacy students and technicians in medication preparation to maintain accuracy and safety.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team on patient care planning, including continuum of care and discharge processes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education is required; PharmD preferred.
  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
  • Minimum of 1 year hospital experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Location: Based in the greater Reading, PA area with assignment at a reputable medical facility.
