This full-time pharmacist role offers a unique blend of retail and inpatient pharmacy practice, with approximately 70% of your time in retail and 30% in hospital inpatient settings. The two locations are conveniently situated just a block apart, allowing for a dynamic yet manageable workflow. The position includes a four-day workweek, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with one weekday off and rotating weekends, providing a balanced schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict compliance with all policies, procedures, codes, and standards within both retail and hospital pharmacy environments.
  • Review and monitor medication orders for accuracy, potential allergies, and drug interactions to ensure patient safety.
  • Prepare intravenous medications using standardized formulas and aseptic techniques.
  • Provide clear, knowledgeable responses to medication-related inquiries from staff and patients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all professional activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy preferred, or strong willingness to develop inpatient skills.
  • Comfortable working with Pioneer RX software for retail pharmacy services and CPSI for inpatient pharmacy management; familiarity or readiness to transition to EPIC software (coming soon) is advantageous.

Schedule:

  • Four days per week from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
  • One weekday off during the week.
  • Rotating weekend shifts.
