Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Butler, PA

Join a specialty retail pharmacy team dedicated to serving complex patients requiring comprehensive medication management. This opportunity seeks two experienced per diem pharmacists to provide expert consultation and care for patients managing multiple chronic conditions.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role:
In this role, you will support patients who typically take 8-15 medications daily, requiring strong consultation and communication skills. You will work closely with patients facing chronic, advanced diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. The emphasis is on quality patient care over volume, focusing on educating and managing complex medication therapies in a compassion-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide thorough medication reviews and consultations tailored to patients’ unique needs
• Manage complex disease states with expert knowledge and patience
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software to accurately process prescriptions and maintain patient records
• Engage effectively with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, many with low literacy levels

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license
• Proven experience in retail and/or specialty pharmacy settings, with a strong understanding of top 200-400 retail medications
• Demonstrated skills in disease state management and patient consultation
• Experience working with complex patient populations requiring detailed medication management
• Strong communication skills coupled with patience and compassion for diverse patient needs
• Prior experience using Pioneer Rx software is highly preferred
