Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Butler, PA

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking two per diem pharmacists to support their team in Butler, PA. This role focuses on providing expert medication management and consultation for patients dealing with complex chronic conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately using Pioneer Rx software.
• Provide thorough patient consultations, focusing on chronic disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
• Manage medication therapies for patients taking multiple medications daily (8-15 medications).
• Demonstrate patience and strong communication skills to work effectively with Medicare/Medicaid patients, many of whom have low literacy rates.
• Uphold a patient-centered approach emphasizing quality consultation over volume.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy background, with specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred.
• Proven ability to counsel patients with advanced disease states.
• Proficiency with Pioneer Rx software (preferred).
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania.

Location: Butler, PA

Schedule:

• Per diem role supporting Monday through Friday coverage from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Multiple regular shifts available, start as needed.
