A full-time pharmacist position is available in a unique role combining retail and inpatient pharmacy services. The opportunity involves working closely with two locations situated within a block of each other, providing a dynamic work environment where 70% of your time will be dedicated to retail pharmacy and 30% to hospital inpatient pharmacy duties.
Shift Details:
- Four days per week, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- One weekday off
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards.
- Review all medication orders for accuracy, allergies, and potential interactions.
- Prepare intravenous admixtures using established protocols.
- Provide information and support to healthcare staff and patients.
- Work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Technical Experience:
- Utilize Pioneer RX software for retail pharmacy management.
- Use CPSI software for hospital pharmacy, transitioning to EPIC system in November.
- Manage a prescription volume averaging 250 per day and 1,300 per week, including services for adult foster care and long-term care facilities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred or a strong willingness to learn hospital-based pharmacy practices.
