This role involves delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care with a focus on medication safety, effectiveness, and patient education within a hospital setting. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including coverage every sixth weekend, with subsequent weekdays off.

Location: Lancaster, OH (contract opportunity)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing
  • Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with healthcare teams, patients, and families

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review, interpret, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions
  • Monitor and manage patient drug therapies to ensure safety and efficacy tailored to individual patient needs
  • Provide drug information to healthcare providers, patients, and families
  • Participate in emergency drug therapy management and ensure adequate medication supplies
  • Oversee pharmacy technician activities to optimize department workflow
  • Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Uphold organizational values including empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork
  • Engage in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Every 6th weekend coverage with compensatory days off during the week

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to exert up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently
