An experienced retail pharmacy technician is sought for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Cleveland, OH, focusing on specialty pharmacy services. This role supports patients managing complex medication regimens, often taking 8-15 medications daily, requiring strong communication skills, patience, and solid knowledge of commonly prescribed retail medications.

Location: Cleveland, OH
Job Type: Contract to hire (13 weeks)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense and prepare medications using pharmacy software (experience with Rx30 is highly desirable)
  • Assist patients, many with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Provide compassionate and clear communication to a diverse patient population, including Medicare/Medicaid recipients and individuals with low literacy levels
  • Support pharmacists and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medication records

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Previous retail pharmacy technician experience, ideally in a specialty retail setting
  • Familiarity with complex patient medication regimens
  • Proficient use of Rx30 or similar pharmacy management software
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work patiently with individuals with chronic conditions and low health literacy
  • Valid Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
