Retail Staff Pharmacist in Cleveland, OH

An established specialty retail pharmacy seeks a skilled Staff Pharmacist to support complex patient care in Cleveland, OH. This contract-to-hire opportunity involves working with patients managing multiple chronic conditions and navigating complicated medication regimens, requiring a high level of expertise and compassion.

Location: Cleveland, OH
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Duration: 13-week contract with opportunity to convert to full-time

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions accurately for patients taking 8-15 medications daily
• Provide clear, patient-focused communication with a diverse population, including Medicare/Medicaid recipients and low-income patients with varying literacy levels
• Utilize retail pharmacy knowledge and software, preferably Rx30, to manage pharmacy operations efficiently
• Support patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis, demonstrating patience and understanding
• Uphold compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements in Ohio

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous retail or specialty pharmacy technician experience, especially working with complex patient populations
• Familiarity with the top 200-400 retail medications
• Compassionate communication skills tailored to patients with advanced chronic conditions and low literacy
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
• Experience with Rx30 pharmacy software is highly desirable
