Retail Staff Pharmacist in Cleveland, OH

A retail pharmacy technician position is available in Cleveland, OH for a 13-week contract with the potential to convert to a permanent role. This opportunity is with a specialty retail pharmacy that focuses on complex patients managing multiple medications daily. Experience in specialty retail pharmacy is highly preferred.

Location: Cleveland, OH
Type: Contract to Hire (13 weeks)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in dispensing medications accurately for patients with chronic and complex conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
• Communicate effectively and patiently with patients, many of whom may have low literacy and rely on Medicaid/Medicare benefits
• Use pharmacy software systems, preferably Rx30, to process prescriptions and maintain records
• Support pharmacists in providing exceptional care tailored to an advanced patient population
• Maintain compliance with Ohio pharmacy regulations and standards

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician handling complex medication regimens
• Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 retail pharmacy medications
• Compassionate communication skills to assist patients with chronic diseases and diverse backgrounds
• Familiarity with patient populations on Medicare/Medicaid and experience supporting those with low literacy
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
• Experience with Rx30 software is a strong plus
