Retail Staff Pharmacist in Cleveland, OH

An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician with specialty retail background to support a busy pharmacy serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This position requires strong communication, patience, and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of drugs commonly dispensed in retail settings.

• Cleveland, OH

Employment type:

• Contract to hire, 13-week duration
• Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
• Effectively communicate with patients who may have low literacy and require additional patience and compassion
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and team members to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
• Utilize pharmacy software (Rx30 preferred) for processing prescriptions and maintaining patient records
• Maintain compliance with state licensing and regulatory requirements

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous retail pharmacy technician experience, with specialty pharmacy preferred
• Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly dispensed in retail pharmacy environments
• Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low-income patients
• Compassionate and patient with a demonstrated ability to assist patients who may have limited literacy
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred
• Familiarity with Rx30 pharmacy software is a strong plus
