A retail pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist with experience in community grocery store settings. This position offers a schedule designed to provide a balanced workweek, with a focus on providing excellent patient care and medication management across primary and secondary retail locations.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday and Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
  • Occasional weekend coverage may be required at the secondary location

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with pharmacy protocols
  • Maintain and update patient medication profiles ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify their daily activities to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
  • Participate in medical emergency responses as a valuable member of the pharmacy team
  • Conduct medication storage inspections and identify expired or outdated medications for proper disposal
  • Provide orientation and training for new team members

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start; all licenses (active and inactive) must be disclosed and verified
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 30 days
  • Experience supervising pharmacy staff and strong patient counseling skills
  • Flexibility to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
  • Open to travel with availability for assignments of 13 weeks or longer; shorter contracts also considered
