Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Clint, Texas

A retail pharmacist opportunity is available to join a healthcare system’s pharmacy located inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This travel contract role offers the chance to deliver quality pharmaceutical care in a community-focused setting with flexibility to work at a secondary retail location as needed, including occasional weekends.

Location:

• Primary: Retail pharmacy inside a grocery store, Alamogordo, NM
• Secondary: Christus Southern New Mexico retail location, North Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, NM

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location; occasional weekend coverage at the secondary location

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols
• Maintain patient medication profiles and ensure accuracy
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff; verify daily activities
• Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
• Inspect medication storage areas and remove outdated medications
• Orient and train new pharmacy team members
• Follow infection control protocols throughout all operations

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain before start
• Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses
• Minimum one year of pharmacy experience preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification requirement or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Flexibility to cover shifts at secondary location, including occasional weekends

• Experienced in retail pharmacy, particularly in grocery store settings
• Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
• Comfortable supervising pharmacy technicians
• Adaptable and open to working across multiple locations
• Quick licensure acquisition in New Mexico if not already licensed

This contract role typically lasts 13 weeks or longer, though shorter assignments will be considered. Travel stipends covering housing, meals, and travel expenses are included.
