Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Start: As needed, with immediate availability preferred to support spring and summer vacation coverage
Role Overview:
As a pharmacist in this specialty retail setting, you will manage patients who typically take 8-15 medications daily. Your expertise will be vital in helping Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients with limited health literacy understand and manage their therapies. Strong communication, patience, and disease state management skills are essential to this role. Emphasis is placed on quality patient care and consultation over volume.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pharmacy License in Ohio
- Experience in retail pharmacy and/or specialty pharmacy
- Proficiency in managing complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
- Strong consultation and communication skills with a compassionate approach
- Familiarity with Pioneer Rx software highly preferred
- Ability to effectively serve a vulnerable patient population with empathy and clarity
Responsibilities:
- Medication dispensing and counseling for complex patient regimens
- Patient education tailored to low literacy and cognitive challenges
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure optimal medication use and adherence
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Pioneer Rx
