Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy - Columbus, Ohio

Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule:

• Per diem hours as needed
• Pharmacy hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense medications and provide thorough consultations to patients with chronic and advanced disease states, including diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
• Manage complex medication regimens consisting of 8-15 medications per patient with patience and clear communication
• Engage with a diverse patient population including Medicare/Medicaid and low-income individuals, many with low literacy levels, emphasizing empathy and understanding
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software effectively in daily pharmacy operations
• Support pharmacy needs during peak vacation seasons in spring and summer

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience with a focus on disease state management
• Expertise in the top 200-400 commonly prescribed retail medications
• Excellent consultation and communication skills, tailored for patients with complex medication needs
• Compassionate approach to patient care, especially for those with low health literacy
• Preference for candidates with experience in specialty retail settings
