Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Cooperstown, New York

A dynamic opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a busy outpatient retail pharmacy in Cooperstown, New York. This contract position offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Occasional coverage may be required at nearby Oneonta and Delhi locations to support vacation and sick leave coverage, providing a well-rounded professional experience.

This outpatient pharmacy is a high-volume operation, filling approximately 1,100 prescriptions weekly. The team currently includes two pharmacists per day, and this role represents the addition of a second pharmacist position. The work environment excludes sterile compounding and chemotherapy, focusing on providing medication and immunization services with an emphasis on excellent customer care. The pharmacy also supports a Meds to Beds program, delivering medications directly to hospital patients transitioning home.

Key responsibilities include:

• Dispensing prescriptions accurately in a high-volume setting
• Providing immunizations and patient counseling
• Managing Meds to Beds program logistics
• Collaborating with healthcare teams using EMR (EPIC) and pharmacy management system (PioneerRx)
• Maintaining exceptional customer service standards at all times
• Offering occasional coverage at satellite locations as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy settings
• Familiarity with high-volume dispensing preferred
• Experience with PioneerRx and EPIC software preferred
• Immunization certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Flexibility to provide occasional coverage at Oneonta and Delhi locations
