Retail Staff Pharmacist in Cortland, NY

A retail pharmacy is seeking two skilled Pharmacists to join their team in Johnson City, NY, located in Upstate New York. This contract role is available immediately and will last for approximately 13 weeks or longer.

In this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications and providing exceptional patient care within a fast-paced retail environment. Key responsibilities include verifying and filling prescriptions, counseling patients on proper medication use, and supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain compliance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately verify and dispense prescription medications
• Provide thorough counseling and education to patients regarding their prescriptions
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians’ daily activities
• Maintain regulatory compliance and adhere to pharmacy policies
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers as needed

Desired Qualifications:

• Current New York State Pharmacist license
• Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
