A per diem pharmacist role is available in Dublin, OH, supporting a specialty retail pharmacy focused on complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong consultation skills and expertise in chronic disease state management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill and dispense medications in a specialty retail setting
- Provide thorough medication counseling to patients taking 8-15 medications daily
- Manage and consult on advanced disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
- Utilize Pioneer Rx software to maintain patient records and prescription workflows
- Demonstrate patience and effective communication, particularly with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients who may have low literacy
- Uphold a patient-centered approach focused on quality care over prescription volume
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with Ohio credentials
- Proven retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience, ideally with exposure to complex medication regimens
- Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 drugs commonly dispensed in retail pharmacies
- Experience working with patients managing chronic illnesses with strong disease state management capabilities
- Compassionate communicator skilled at educating diverse patient populations
Schedule:
- Per diem availability to provide relief coverage primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Flexibility to support Spring and Summer vacation coverage periods
