This retail pharmacy position offers a dynamic role within a community grocery store pharmacy setting, focused on accurate medication dispensing, patient counseling, and team supervision. The pharmacist will work primarily on the following schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
- Occasional weekend shifts may be required at a secondary retail location
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following regulatory protocols
- Maintain and update patient medication profiles to ensure safety and compliance
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily operational activities
- Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
- Conduct medication storage inspections, removing outdated medications
- Assist in orienting and training new pharmacy staff as needed
- Provide strong patient counseling and ensure excellent customer care
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Disclosure and verification of all current and past licenses required
- Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Availability to cover shifts at secondary location, including occasional weekends
- Strong ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and adapt between multiple locations
