This retail pharmacy position offers a dynamic role within a community grocery store pharmacy setting, focused on accurate medication dispensing, patient counseling, and team supervision. The pharmacist will work primarily on the following schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
  • Occasional weekend shifts may be required at a secondary retail location

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following regulatory protocols
  • Maintain and update patient medication profiles to ensure safety and compliance
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily operational activities
  • Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
  • Conduct medication storage inspections, removing outdated medications
  • Assist in orienting and training new pharmacy staff as needed
  • Provide strong patient counseling and ensure excellent customer care

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
  • Disclosure and verification of all current and past licenses required
  • Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Availability to cover shifts at secondary location, including occasional weekends
  • Strong ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and adapt between multiple locations
