Join a Retail Pharmacy Team as a Travel Staff Pharmacist in Alamogordo, New Mexico

This travel contract opportunity offers a rewarding position within a retail pharmacy located inside a Lowe’s Signature Market grocery store. The pharmacy operates as part of a respected healthcare system, with a secondary retail location available nearby on North Scenic Drive. Candidates should expect to cover shifts at both locations, including occasional weekends, for a flexible and varied work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in accordance with protocols.
  • Maintain precise patient medication profiles to ensure quality care.
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff, verifying daily activities.
  • Participate in medical emergency responses as a vital member of the pharmacy team.
  • Conduct medication storage area inspections and identify expired medications.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new team members.
  • Follow strict infection control guidelines across all pharmacy operations.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start.
  • Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses.
  • Minimum of one year as a registered pharmacist preferred.
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Comfortable supervising pharmacy technicians and delivering patient counseling.
  • Adaptable and flexible for work across two retail locations, including occasional weekend shifts.
  • Strong community pharmacy experience, ideally within a grocery store setting.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location; occasional weekend coverage at secondary location.
