Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Elizabeth, IL

A retail pharmacist opportunity is available for a 2-week coverage period in Galena, Illinois, from May 26th through June 5th. This per diem role involves working as the sole pharmacist in a newly established pharmacy located within a clinic, primarily verifying prescriptions for in-house patients. With a low volume setting and strong support from an experienced pharmacy technician, this position offers a focused and manageable environment.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and ensure safe, efficient delivery to patients.
• Provide counseling and advice to patients regarding their medications and treatment plans.
• Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and in line with organizational policies.
• Maintain stock levels, control drug records, and manage inventories effectively.
• Resolve patient issues and clarify third-party insurance coverage questions.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Illinois.
• Minimum of one year retail pharmacy experience.
• Proficient with Pioneer pharmacy software or willingness to quickly adapt.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and customer service.

Schedule:

• Shift: 1st shift
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
