An experienced retail pharmacy technician is needed for a contract to hire opportunity in Elyria, OH. This position involves working with a specialty retail pharmacy that serves complex patients managing multiple medications daily. The right candidate will have strong communication skills, patience, and a solid understanding of the top 200-400 drugs commonly found in a retail pharmacy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately dispensing medications to patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, MS, and RA
  • Providing compassionate, clear communication to a patient population that primarily includes Medicare/Medicaid recipients and low-income individuals with potentially low literacy
  • Utilizing pharmacy software, preferably Rx30, to manage prescriptions and patient profiles
  • Supporting pharmacists in maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Experience in retail and specialty pharmacy settings, especially working with patients with advanced chronic illnesses
  • Strong knowledge of commonly prescribed medications and pharmacy operations
  • Proficiency with Rx30 software preferred
  • Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills tailored to a diverse and medically complex patient population

Location and Schedule:

  • Elyria, Ohio
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

This role offers a 13-week contract with potential to convert to a permanent position. Start date is immediate.
