A healthcare facility is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and medication management for patients. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications through accurate dispensation, patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with every sixth weekend of coverage, accompanied by a subsequent day off during the week. This contract opportunity begins on June 1st and requires flexibility to support weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing
- Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, and families
- Commitment to quality patient care and adherence to established policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, interpret, and dispense medication orders accurately
- Monitor medication therapy to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness tailored to patient age and condition
- Provide drug information and counseling to patients, families, and medical staff
- Oversee pharmacy technician activities to support departmental operations
- Participate in emergency drug therapy management and maintain medication supply readiness
