A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking two experienced per diem pharmacists to provide expert pharmaceutical care for complex patient populations. Location:
- Greensburg, PA
Schedule:
- Per diem availability, multiple regular dates to be determined
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medication and manage prescriptions for patients with complex regimens, often taking 8-15 medications daily
- Provide thorough patient consultations, ensuring clear understanding of disease states and medication therapies
- Work closely with patients managing chronic and advanced diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
- Demonstrate patience and empathy to effectively communicate with Medicare/Medicaid and low-literacy patient populations
- Utilize Pioneer Rx software to accurately document and process prescriptions
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania
- Strong background in retail and/or specialty pharmacy settings
- Proven skills in disease state management and patient counseling
- Experience with specialty pharmacy preferred due to complexity of medication regimens
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Familiarity with Pioneer Rx software is a plus
