Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy - Helotes, Texas

This per diem opportunity offers dedicated pharmacists the chance to provide essential coverage at a community-driven retail pharmacy known for personalized service. Two days of training will be provided to familiarize you with the pharmacy’s operations and software. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented professionals passionate about patient care and medication safety.

• Helotes, TX (Boerne area)

Schedule:

• Training Dates: June 25 & 26
• Shift Dates: June 29, 30, July 1, 2
• Shift Hours: 8:45 AM – 6:00 PM (with a 30-minute lunch break)

Responsibilities:

• Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions, handling a high volume averaging 275 prescriptions daily
• Process electronic prescriptions efficiently, including batch orders
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and safety precautions
• Verify non-sterile compounding practices in adherence with established protocols
• Administer immunizations as needed, though minimal involvement expected
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapy management
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and maintain smooth workflow
• Manage inventory control and promptly handle medication recalls
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and pharmacy laws
• Deliver excellent customer service both in-person and through drive-thru/delivery operations

Qualifications:

• Active Texas Pharmacist License required
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in retail pharmacy practice
• Comfortable working with pharmacy software (Computer RX training provided)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
