This opportunity calls for a skilled retail pharmacist to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care within a vibrant community grocery store pharmacy setting. The role involves partnering with patients and pharmacy team members to ensure safe and effective medication use, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory protocols. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong patient counseling capabilities and can confidently supervise pharmacy technician staff to deliver outstanding service.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
  • Occasional weekend coverage may be required at the secondary location

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing required, or willingness to obtain before starting
  • Disclosure of all active and inactive licenses for verification
  • Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or commitment to obtain within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Ability and willingness to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
  • Experienced in retail pharmacy workflows, particularly in community grocery environments
  • Strong leadership skills to oversee and direct pharmacy technician staff
  • Flexible and adaptable across multiple retail sites

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense prescribed medications in alignment with protocols
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise patient medication profiles
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify daily operational activities
  • Participate in medical emergency responses as a pharmacy team member
  • Conduct medication storage inspections to ensure safety and remove expired products
  • Orient and train newly onboarded pharmacy staff as needed
