Retail Staff Pharmacist in La Mesa, NM

This opportunity is for an experienced Staff Pharmacist skilled in retail pharmacy operations, located in La Mesa, NM. The role is contract-based with a schedule designed to provide work-life balance, including fixed weekday hours and occasional weekend coverage at a secondary location.

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Closed weekends and six major holidays at primary location
• Occasional weekend coverage required at secondary location

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or ability to obtain prior to start
• Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses is mandatory
• Minimum of one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or must obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 30 days
• Willingness and availability to cover shifts at a secondary retail location, including occasional weekends

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and accurately dispense medication orders in compliance with all regulations
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient medication profiles
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify daily activities
• Participate actively in medical emergency response as a pharmacy team member
• Conduct inspections of medication storage areas and remove expired stock
• Orient and train new pharmacy staff to ensure adherence to protocols

Ideal candidates will have strong patient counseling skills, the ability to supervise staff effectively, and the flexibility to adapt across multiple retail locations. Experience in a grocery store pharmacy environment is advantageous.
