An established specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacy technician for a 13-week contract with the potential to convert to a permanent role. This position is based in Lakewood, OH, and focuses on serving a complex patient population requiring advanced medication management.

This pharmacy supports patients managing multiple chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Each patient typically takes 8-15 medications daily, calling for pharmacy professionals with strong communication skills, patience, and in-depth knowledge of commonly prescribed retail medications.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven retail pharmacy technician experience; specialty retail pharmacy background highly preferred
  • Comfortable working with patients in advanced chronic disease stages
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid patient populations, sensitive to low literacy and income levels
  • Experience with Rx30 software is a strong plus
  • Licensed pharmacy technician in Ohio; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process prescriptions for a complex medication regimen
  • Provide compassionate counseling and support to patients with advanced chronic illnesses
  • Work closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes
  • Manage inventory and maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
