An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician with a passion for specialty pharmacy care in Lakewood, OH. This role involves supporting patients managing complex chronic conditions by assisting with medication regimens that often include 8-15 prescriptions daily. Strong communication skills, patience, and in-depth knowledge of commonly prescribed retail medications are essential to provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications to patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Utilize pharmacy software (preferably Rx30) to manage prescriptions and patient records
  • Communicate effectively with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, ensuring clarity despite low literacy levels
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, regulations, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred
  • Experience in retail and specialty pharmacy environments strongly desired
  • Proficient understanding of top 200-400 retail medications
  • Prior work with complex patients managing multiple chronic diseases
  • Skilled in Rx30 software or similar pharmacy technology
  • Demonstrated patience, compassion, and excellent interpersonal communication skills

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
