Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Lakewood, Ohio

A specialized retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to fill a 13-week contract-to-hire position in Lakewood, OH. This role focuses on supporting patients with complex medication needs in a specialty pharmacy environment.

Schedule & Location

• Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Location: Lakewood, OH

Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing medications for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
• Provide compassionate patient communication, especially for Medicare/Medicaid and low-income individuals with low literacy levels.
• Utilize pharmaceutical knowledge of the top 200-400 retail drugs to ensure accuracy and safety in dispensing.
• Employ patience and strong communication skills to engage effectively with complex patient cases.
• Use Rx30 pharmacy software to manage prescriptions and patient records.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

• Experience in retail and/or specialty pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with advanced chronic disease medication regimens.
• Proficient in Rx30 pharmacy software.
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required.
• PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
