A retail pharmacy opportunity in Las Cruces, NM is available for a licensed Staff Pharmacist to join a dynamic community grocery store pharmacy team. This contract role offers a well-structured schedule and the chance to contribute to quality patient care through medication dispensing and counseling.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
- Occasional weekend coverage may be required at a secondary retail location
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following all protocols
- Maintain and update patient medication profiles ensuring accuracy
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff, verifying daily tasks
- Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
- Conduct medication storage inspections and remove outdated products
- Orient and train new pharmacy staff as necessary
- Provide excellent patient counseling to promote safe medication use
- Flexibly cover shifts at the secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or willingness to obtain before start date (all licenses must be disclosed and verified)
- Minimum of one year registered pharmacist experience preferred
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail community pharmacy setting
- Strong leadership skills to manage pharmacy technicians effectively
- Open to travel and contract engagements of 13 weeks or longer (shorter contracts considered)
