Retail Staff Pharmacist in Las Cruces, NM

Pharmacist opportunity available with a retail pharmacy located inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This assignment offers the chance to provide personalized patient care within a community setting as part of a reputable health system. The role is a travel contract position lasting 13 weeks or longer, with the possibility of shorter durations considered.

Location:

• Primary: Retail pharmacy in a grocery store in Alamogordo, NM
• Secondary: Additional retail location in Alamogordo with occasional weekend shifts as needed

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Weekends off at primary location; some weekend coverage may be required at secondary location

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date patient medication profiles
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify daily operational activities
• Participate in emergency medical responses alongside the pharmacy team
• Conduct medication storage inspections to identify expired items
• Orient and train new staff members
• Follow infection control practices throughout all pharmacy operations
• Cover shifts at the secondary location as needed, including occasional weekends

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Disclosure and verification of all active/inactive licenses
• Minimum one year of pharmacy experience preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or to be obtained within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within 30 days
• Ability to supervise and lead pharmacy technicians
• Strong patient counseling and dispensing skills
• Flexibility to work at multiple retail locations and occasional weekends
