Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Lorain, Ohio

An experienced retail pharmacy technician is needed for a 13-week contract to hire position in Lorain, OH. This role supports a specialty retail pharmacy that focuses on managing complex patients who often take 8-15 medications daily. Candidates with strong communication skills, patience, and a thorough knowledge of 200-400 common retail medications will excel in this environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and dispense medications while adhering to standard protocols.
• Provide compassionate patient counseling, especially to those with low literacy rates and complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
• Use pharmacy software, preferably Rx30, to manage prescriptions and patient records.
• Collaborate effectively with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven background in retail pharmacy, with specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred.
• Comfortable working with Medicare/Medicaid populations and low-income patients.
• Patience and strong interpersonal skills to support patients managing advanced chronic diseases.
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software Rx30 is a distinct advantage.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
