Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Lorain, Ohio

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Lorain, OH. This role supports complex patients who take multiple medications daily, requiring strong communication skills, patience, and in-depth knowledge of commonly prescribed retail medications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions for patients managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
• Provide compassionate patient counseling, tailored for a Medicare/Medicaid population with low literacy levels
• Utilize pharmacy software, preferably Rx30, to maintain patient records and process prescriptions efficiently
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care and medication adherence
• Maintain compliance with state pharmacy regulations and standards

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Ohio pharmacy technician license required
• PTCB certification highly preferred but not required
• Proven retail and specialty pharmacy experience, particularly with chronic disease patients
• Strong familiarity with the top 200-400 retail medications
• Effective communication skills and patience in patient interactions
• Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient populations
• Proficiency with Rx30 software highly desirable

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
