Retail Staff Pharmacist in Lorain, OH

An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician to support a specialty retail pharmacy focused on complex patient care. This role is a 13-week contract to hire position based in Lorain, OH.

This specialty pharmacy serves patients managing multiple chronic conditions who take 8 to 15 medications daily. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, patience, and a thorough knowledge of commonly prescribed retail medications. Experience in specialty retail pharmacy is highly preferred.

Location: Lorain, OH
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications and accurately process prescriptions for patients with advanced chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
• Provide compassionate and clear communication to a primarily low literacy, Medicare/Medicaid patient population
• Utilize pharmacy software, specifically Rx30, to manage patient profiles and workflow
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure patient safety and medication adherence

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio Pharmacy Technician license required
• PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
• Proven background in retail and specialty pharmacy settings
• Strong familiarity with the top 200-400 retail drugs
• Experience working with complex, chronic disease patient populations
• Excellent communication skills with patience and empathy
