Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy - Los Alamos, New Mexico

A retail pharmacist role is available in Los Alamos, NM, offering an engaging day shift schedule with a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position involves working in a fast-paced pharmacy handling approximately 600 prescriptions daily. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail and customer service skills to maintain high-quality patient care.

Shift and Schedule:

• Flexible start time at 8:30 AM or 9:30 AM
• Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (rotating weekends)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow
• Provide excellent customer service and thorough patient counseling
• Verify USP 800 non-sterile compounded prescriptions (verification only, no compounding)
• Work efficiently in a high-volume pharmacy environment

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active and clear New Mexico Pharmacist License
• Experience with USP 800 non-sterile compounding verification preferred
• Background working in a high-volume pharmacy is advantageous
• Open to new graduates eager to grow their retail pharmacy skills
• Familiarity with Pioneer pharmacy system is helpful
