Retail Staff Pharmacist in Los Alamos, NM

An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support retail pharmacy operations in Los Alamos, NM. This role operates on a contract-to-hire basis, offering a pathway to permanent employment.

Location: Los Alamos, NM
Schedule:

• Shift start time flexible at 8:30 AM or 9:30 AM
• Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (rotating weekends)
• Day shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and oversee pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency and accuracy
• Deliver exceptional customer service and patient counseling to ensure medication understanding and adherence
• Verify USP 800 non-sterile compounded prescriptions (verification only, no compounding required)
• Manage high-volume prescription processing, averaging approximately 600 prescriptions daily

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and clear New Mexico Pharmacist License
• Experience in non-sterile compounding verification preferred
• Background working in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment is advantageous
