Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a hospital environment with a focus on medication safety, patient counseling, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This contract opportunity begins June 1st and offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including coverage every sixth weekend with compensatory days off during the week. The role is based in a medical center located in Lancaster, OH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review, interpret, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions.
  • Monitor and manage patient medication therapies to ensure safety, efficacy, and age-appropriateness.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental and regulatory standards, including quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide drug information and counseling to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in emergency drug therapy management and ensure medication availability.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy technician activities to support department efficiency.
  • Exhibit professionalism through empathy, integrity, teamwork, and stewardship in alignment with organizational values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous professional development.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to exert medium physical effort (lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration within a dynamic healthcare setting.
