Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a hospital environment with a focus on medication safety, patient counseling, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This contract opportunity begins June 1st and offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including coverage every sixth weekend with compensatory days off during the week. The role is based in a medical center located in Lancaster, OH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately review, interpret, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions.
- Monitor and manage patient medication therapies to ensure safety, efficacy, and age-appropriateness.
- Maintain compliance with departmental and regulatory standards, including quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide drug information and counseling to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Assist in emergency drug therapy management and ensure medication availability.
- Oversee daily pharmacy technician activities to support department efficiency.
- Exhibit professionalism through empathy, integrity, teamwork, and stewardship in alignment with organizational values.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing.
- Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
