Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Mesquite, New Mexico

Seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a retail pharmacy role based in Mesquite, NM. This contract position offers a dynamic environment within a community grocery store setting, requiring strong medication dispensing and patient counseling expertise.

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required at the secondary location

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses required
• Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Availability to cover shifts, including occasional weekends, at a secondary retail location

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols
• Maintain precise patient medication profiles
• Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians, verifying their daily activities
• Participate in medical emergency response efforts within the pharmacy team
• Conduct inspections of medication storage areas, identifying outdated medications
• Orient and train new team members as needed

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced retail pharmacist comfortable with a community grocery store pharmacy environment
• Strong patient interaction and medication dispensing skills
• Ability to manage and direct pharmacy technician staff effectively
• Flexible to work across primary and secondary locations
• Licensed or willing to quickly obtain New Mexico licensure
• Immunization certified or willing to become certified within 30 days
• Open to travel and able to commit to 13 weeks or longer; shorter contracts considered
