Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist - Phoenix, AZ

A retail pharmacy opportunity is available for a per diem pharmacist in the greater Phoenix, AZ area, supporting multiple stores within a well-established food and pharmacy setting. This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistent pharmacy operations coverage during busy seasonal periods, including graduations, summer vacations, and holidays.

This role is ideal for pharmacists seeking flexible, part-time work of 2-4 days per week to fill in for call outs, vacations, or high-volume spikes. Operating hours are generally Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM, with some locations open until 8 PM. Rx volumes average between 100 to 125 prescriptions daily.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate dispensing and counseling to patients at various retail pharmacy locations
• Complete required training prior to active coverage, with an initial 8-hour training shift and additional sessions as necessary
• Support pharmacies staffed solely by pharmacists or with strong technician assistance
• Utilize QS1 pharmacy dispensing software efficiently
• Maintain immunization privileges and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to administer vaccines as needed
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure excellent patient care and operational compliance

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years retail pharmacy experience required; candidates with 5+ years preferred for higher compensation consideration
• Immunization privilege certification and current BLS card
• Previous experience with QS1 software is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and adapt in different pharmacy environments

Location & Travel:
Most pharmacies are within driving distance of Phoenix; mileage reimbursement applies for commutes over 30 miles. For travel exceeding 75 miles, meals and hotels are covered, with meals stipend provided per shift.
