This full-time Pharmacist position offers a unique blend of retail and inpatient pharmacy responsibilities, with 70% of time spent in a retail setting and 30% in a hospital inpatient pharmacy. Both locations are conveniently situated close to each other, allowing seamless transition between environments. The role operates on a four-day workweek schedule from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, including one weekday off and rotating weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Review medication orders for accuracy, allergies, and drug interactions.
  • Prepare intravenous medications following established formulas and protocols.
  • Provide clear, informed responses to inquiries from both patients and healthcare staff.
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient and organizational information.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • Current licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Michigan.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy preferred, but candidates with retail pharmacy background and willingness to learn inpatient procedures will be considered.

Additional Details:

  • Pharmacy software utilized includes Pioneer RX for retail and CPSI for hospital settings, with a transition to EPIC planned.
  • The prescription volume averages 250 per day and 1,300 weekly, encompassing service to adult foster care homes and a local long-term care facility.
