Apply NowThis per diem opportunity seeks two experienced pharmacists to support a specialty retail pharmacy focused on complex patient care. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering multiple regular coverage dates as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing expert consultation and medication management for patients with multiple chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
- Managing medication therapy for patients taking 8 to 15 medications daily.
- Demonstrating patience and strong communication skills to effectively serve a Medicare/Medicaid patient population with low literacy.
- Utilizing Pioneer Rx software to accurately process prescriptions and maintain patient records.
- Upholding a patient-focused model emphasizing quality care over volume.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Proven retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience, ideally with specialty retail exposure.
- Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 retail drugs.
- Expertise in disease state management and patient consultation.
- Compassionate approach to patient care, especially for vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with managing complex medication regimens.
- Valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license is required.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Per diem position with flexible coverage dates
