This per diem opportunity seeks two experienced pharmacists to support a specialty retail pharmacy focused on complex patient care. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering multiple regular coverage dates as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert consultation and medication management for patients with multiple chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
  • Managing medication therapy for patients taking 8 to 15 medications daily.
  • Demonstrating patience and strong communication skills to effectively serve a Medicare/Medicaid patient population with low literacy.
  • Utilizing Pioneer Rx software to accurately process prescriptions and maintain patient records.
  • Upholding a patient-focused model emphasizing quality care over volume.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Proven retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience, ideally with specialty retail exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 retail drugs.
  • Expertise in disease state management and patient consultation.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care, especially for vulnerable populations.
  • Familiarity with managing complex medication regimens.
  • Valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license is required.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Per diem position with flexible coverage dates
