Urgent Need for Experienced Per Diem Pharmacists – Multiple Locations in Northern California

A leading retail pharmacy group in the Northern California region is expanding its per diem pharmacist team to meet increasing demand. We are seeking 6-8 skilled pharmacists for coverage primarily in Sacramento, with additional openings in the Bay Area/North Bay and Northern California (Redding, Chico).

Location:

  • Sacramento (3-4 positions)
  • Bay Area/North Bay (2 positions)
  • Northern California – Redding and Chico (2 positions)

Job Type: Per Diem
Schedule: Flexible shifts as needed; typically 1-2 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional pharmacy services, including dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
  • Open and close retail pharmacy operations following established procedures
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow and compliance
  • Utilize McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) software for daily pharmacy operations
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and company policies

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience required, with hands-on experience opening and closing a pharmacy
  • Proven ability to manage and lead pharmacy technician teams effectively
  • Must be able and willing to commute flexibly to various locations within the specified regions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
