Retail Staff Pharmacist - Salinas, CA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist with retail experience to support a 250-bed community hospital’s outpatient pharmacy. This role requires dedication to night shifts, providing sole pharmacist coverage alongside a pharmacy technician. Experience with PioneerRX is highly desired, with EPIC system knowledge considered a plus.

Location: Salinas, CA
Schedule: Night shifts - 7 days on, 7 days off | 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Job Type: Contract, approximately 13 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Manage prescription verification, dispensing, and counseling during night shifts
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations
• Provide expert pharmaceutical care while working independently as the only pharmacist on shift
• Collaborate with the pharmacy technician to streamline outpatient pharmacy operations
• Utilize PioneerRX software proficiently; EPIC experience advantageous

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active California pharmacist license
• Proven retail pharmacy experience, ideally in a hospital outpatient setting
• Availability for full-time night shifts in a 7 on/7 off schedule
• Strong proficiency with PioneerRX pharmacy management system
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy under minimal supervision
