A retail staff pharmacist opportunity is available in San Elizario, TX, offering dynamic involvement in pharmacy operations within a community grocery store setting. This contract position requires dedication to patient care and medication safety, with a schedule designed to support work-life balance and occasional weekend coverage at a secondary location.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
- Occasional weekend coverage may be required at the secondary retail location
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders, ensuring compliance with protocols
- Maintain precise patient medication profiles for safe and effective therapy
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities to uphold quality standards
- Participate actively in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team
- Conduct medication storage inspections and identify outdated or expired medications
- Facilitate orientation and training of new team members to promote consistent service delivery
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses required
- Minimum of one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability and willingness to cover shifts at a secondary location, including occasional weekends
