Retail Staff Pharmacist - San Elizario, TX

This role offers an opportunity to work as a licensed pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting with primary responsibilities focused on medication dispensing, patient counseling, and team supervision. The position requires flexibility to support a secondary retail location on occasion, including occasional weekend shifts.

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed weekends and six major holidays at primary location
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required at secondary location

Location: San Elizario, TX

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses
• Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Availability to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including occasional weekends

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experienced retail pharmacist comfortable working in a community grocery store pharmacy
• Strong skills in patient counseling and medication dispensing
• Capable of supervising and directing pharmacy technician staff effectively
• Flexible and adaptable across primary and secondary locations
• Licensed or willing to become licensed quickly in New Mexico
• Certified or willing to be certified in immunization delivery within 30 days
• Open to travel; contract duration of 13 weeks or longer preferred (shorter contracts considered)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and dispense medication orders accurately and in compliance with protocols
• Maintain accurate patient medication profiles
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities
• Participate in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team
• Conduct medication storage inspections and identify/remove outdated medications
• Orient and train new pharmacy team members as needed
