Retail Staff Pharmacist - San Elizario, TX

A retail pharmacy position is available for a licensed pharmacist seeking a travel contract opportunity in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This role supports a pharmacy inside a grocery store setting, with a secondary location where occasional weekend shifts may be required. The assignment offers a flexible contract length starting at 13 weeks, with shorter durations considered.

Responsibilities include accurately reviewing and dispensing medications, maintaining patient profiles, supervising pharmacy technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards. You will also participate in emergency medical response and assist in training new staff members. The ability to adapt between two retail locations and occasional weekend coverage is essential.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License or willingness to obtain before start date
• Disclosure and verification of all current and inactive licenses
• Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
• Certification in APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Experience working in a retail community pharmacy, preferably within a grocery store
• Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
• Ability to supervise pharmacy technician staff effectively
• Flexibility to work at both primary and secondary locations, including occasional weekends

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary site; occasional weekend coverage at the secondary location may be needed
