Retail Staff Pharmacist in San Elizario, TX

This opportunity is for a travel retail staff pharmacist position based in Alamogordo, New Mexico, serving in a grocery store-based pharmacy within a prominent health system. The role is a contract assignment starting at 13 weeks or longer, with shorter contracts considered.

Location:

• Alamogordo, New Mexico
• Primary retail site inside a grocery store
• Secondary retail location at a nearby health system facility with occasional weekend shifts

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
• Occasional weekend coverage needed at secondary location

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and dispense medications with accuracy and adherence to protocols
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient medication profiles
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities
• Engage in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team
• Inspect medication storage, identifying expired products
• Train and orient new pharmacy staff members
• Follow strict infection control procedures in all pharmacy operations

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing or willingness to obtain before start
• Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses
• Minimum one year of pharmacist experience preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or commitment to obtain within 30 days
• Ability to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
• Strong skills in patient counseling and medication dispensing
• Comfortable supervising pharmacy technician staff
• Adaptable and flexible across multiple retail settings
• Open to travel and available for at least 13 weeks
