Join a reputable retail pharmacy positioned within a grocery store environment and part of a noted health system in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This travel contract role offers an opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic setting, supporting patient health and wellness through expert medication dispensing and counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense prescription medications following all regulatory protocols.
  • Maintain complete and precise patient medication records.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance.
  • Participate in medical emergency responses alongside the pharmacy team.
  • Conduct inspections of medication storage areas to ensure safety and identify outdated stock.
  • Orient and train new pharmacy staff members.
  • Follow infection control guidelines meticulously during all pharmacy tasks.
  • Provide occasional shift coverage at a secondary retail location, which may include weekends.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license in New Mexico or ability to obtain one prior to starting.
  • Disclosure and verification of all current and inactive pharmacy licenses.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience as a registered pharmacist preferred.
  • Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification (APhA) or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Strong skills in patient counseling, medication dispensing, and staff supervision.
  • Adaptability to work across two retail locations.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Occasional weekend shifts at secondary location.

This role suits a pharmacist comfortable in a community retail pharmacy environment and ready to contribute to patient care within a supportive team. The contract assignment is expected to last 13 weeks or more, with shorter assignments considered.
