Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Scales Mound, IL

This Per Diem opportunity offers a unique chance to serve as the sole pharmacist at a newly established retail pharmacy supporting a clinic setting in Galena, Illinois. The role involves a focused, low-volume workload, primarily verifying prescriptions for in-house clinic patients with strong pharmacy technician collaboration. The assignment runs from May 26th to June 5th, providing weekday coverage Monday through Friday during the 1st shift, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense medications while ensuring safe and efficient delivery to all customers.
• Counsel patients on medication use and answer questions related to their regimens.
• Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and in alignment with policies.
• Maintain stock levels and oversee controlled drug records and inventories.
• Resolve patient problems and clarify third-party insurance coverage issues.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in Illinois.
• Minimum of 1 year of retail pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with Pioneer pharmacy software is a plus.
