Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy - Scales Mound, Illinois

An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to provide coverage at a new retail pharmacy located in Galena, Illinois. This per diem assignment runs from May 26th to June 5th, offering first-shift hours Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The pharmacist will play a crucial role as the sole pharmacist on-site, primarily verifying prescriptions for in-house clinic patients in a low-volume setting.

Responsibilities include dispensing medications accurately and efficiently under the direct supervision of the manager, providing patient counseling on medication regimens, and addressing patient inquiries and concerns in line with established procedures. The role also involves maintaining stock records, controlled substance inventories, and resolving issues related to third-party coverage.

This position utilizes Pioneer software, with support from an experienced and capable pharmacy technician to ensure smooth operation. Candidates with strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient care will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Illinois
• Minimum of 1 year of retail pharmacy experience
• Proficiency or willingness to quickly learn Pioneer pharmacy management system
