Provide your expertise as a Staff Pharmacist supporting multiple retail pharmacies in the Tucson, AZ area, helping maintain excellent pharmacy operations across several community-focused stores. This per diem role is designed for pharmacists who can commit to 2-4 days per week, stepping in to cover call outs, vacations, or increased volume to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and counsel patients on proper medication use
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and store staff to maintain efficient workflow
- Conduct immunizations and health screenings in line with certifications
- Manage prescription workflows using QS1 pharmacy system
- Complete a dedicated 8-hour training shift, with additional training opportunities as needed
- Adapt to smaller, pharmacist-only sites where strong decision-making and independent practice are required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Immunization certification and a valid BLS card required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with average daily prescription volumes of 100-125
- Proficiency with QS1 software is an asset or readily trainable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Work Schedule and Location:
- Per diem position with flexible scheduling (2-4 days per week ideal)
- Pharmacy hours typically Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with some stores closing at 8:00 p.m.
- Work across multiple retail locations within the Tucson area, including several community-based pharmacies
