Support a dynamic team of retail pharmacists serving multiple community locations in the Tucson area, including several neighborhood pharmacy and food store settings. This per diem role is ideal for experienced pharmacists seeking flexible, part-time work covering vacations, call outs, and busy periods. You’ll be part of a dedicated group helping ensure seamless pharmacy operations across a variety of sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety and compliance
- Provide excellent patient counseling and respond to medication-related inquiries
- Administer immunizations and maintain vaccination records
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and support staff to optimize workflow
- Participate in initial and ongoing training to familiarize yourself with site-specific processes
- Utilize QS1 pharmacy software for prescription processing
- Maintain necessary certifications including immunization privileges and BLS
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years retail pharmacy experience required
- Current immunization privileges and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficient in using QS1 or ability to quickly learn pharmacy management systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently, especially at pharmacist-only sites
- Ability to work approximately 2-4 days per week with flexible scheduling availability
Location: Tucson area pharmacies including multiple locations with pharmacy operations generally Monday through Saturday, typically 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (some open until 8:00 PM). Shift availability varies to cover call outs, vacations, and volume spikes.
Training: A dedicated 8-hour shift is provided for training, with additional opportunities as needed to ensure confidence and competence before covering sites independently.
