Providing essential pharmacy services across multiple Tucson-area locations, this per diem role supports a team of 2-3 pharmacists trained to meet fluctuating demands in busy retail settings. Operating within food and pharmacy stores, these pharmacies handle an average prescription volume of 100-125 daily, requiring skilled, adaptable professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Location:

  • Various Tucson-area pharmacies
  • Schedule: Monday through Saturday, typically 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. (some locations may close at 8 p.m.)
  • Shifts vary; this role is designed for pharmacists seeking part-time hours (2-4 days weekly) to cover call-outs, vacation relief, and volume spikes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Provide immunizations and perform other patient-care services aligned with immunization privileges
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians and other staff, adjusting to both team-supported and pharmacist-only sites
  • Complete an 8-hour dedicated training shift with additional training available as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of retail pharmacy experience required, with preference for candidates comfortable working independently and within a team
  • Immunization certification and current BLS card mandatory
  • Experience using QS1 pharmacy software preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient safety and service
