A retail pharmacist opportunity is available supporting a pharmacy located inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, New Mexico, with coverage at a secondary retail location nearby. This direct hire position offers a long-term travel contract assignment with flexible duration, ideal for candidates licensed or pursuing licensure in New Mexico.

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Type: Travel Contract, 13 weeks or longer (shorter contracts considered)
Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed weekends at primary location; occasional weekend shifts at secondary location

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medications, ensuring compliance with protocols
• Maintain detailed patient medication profiles
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff, verifying daily operations
• Participate in medical emergency responses within the pharmacy team
• Conduct medication storage inspections and manage expired inventory
• Train and orient new team members
• Follow infection control procedures throughout pharmacy functions
• Provide occasional coverage at a secondary retail location, including weekends

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or obtainable within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or attainable within 30 days
• Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
• Comfortable supervising pharmacy technicians and working in a community grocery store pharmacy environment
• Flexible and adaptable to work across two retail locations
