This opportunity seeks experienced retail pharmacists for per diem positions supporting multiple pharmacy locations throughout the Tucson area. A team of 2-3 pharmacists will be assembled to cover call outs, vacations, and volume surges across busy community pharmacies that serve patients within a food and pharmacy retail setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and efficient dispensing of medications in line with prescription orders.
- Counsel patients on proper medication use and answer health-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and store staff to maintain smooth workflow.
- Complete required training sessions to ensure readiness for pharmacist-only sites.
- Maintain immunization privileges and be prepared to administer vaccines as needed.
- Utilize the QS1 pharmacy system for medication processing and record keeping.
- Adhere to pharmacy policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years retail pharmacy practice preferred.
- Immunization certification and current Basic Life Support (BLS) card required.
- Comfortable working independently, especially at pharmacist-only locations.
- Capable of adaptability to varied pharmacy environments and schedules.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
Location: Multiple pharmacy sites across Tucson, AZ area with coverage needs based on pharmacy demand.
Schedule/Hours:
- Per diem, part-time commitment preferred (2-4 days/week).
- Pharmacy hours generally Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., some sites close at 8:00 p.m.
- Must be flexible and available to cover shifts on short notice.
Training:
- Pharmacists will receive an initial full 8-hour training shift, with additional sessions available to ensure preparedness.
