A unique opportunity is available for a motivated and experienced Retail/Outpatient Pharmacist to contribute to the launch of a new Chronic Illness & Pain Management Pharmacy within a growing hospital team. This position offers a chance to shape and develop a specialized pharmacy service from inception, focusing on delivering exceptional patient care in a collaborative clinical environment.
Location: Red Oak, Iowa (approximately 1 hour from Omaha, NE)

Position Overview:
This role is integral to supporting the launch and ongoing development of a Chronic Care/Pain Management Pharmacy. The successful candidate will provide high-quality outpatient and retail pharmacy services, working closely with providers and care teams to optimize medication therapy. Emphasis is placed on patient counseling, particularly for chronic disease management, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, contributing to workflow and operational efficiency will be a key part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Chronic Care/Pain Management Pharmacy program
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient and retail pharmacy services
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Provide detailed patient counseling focused on chronic illness management
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and safety requirements
- Support continuous improvement of pharmacy workflows and efficiency
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure
- Experience in retail and/or outpatient pharmacy settings required
- Ambulatory care experience highly preferred
- Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) is a strong plus
- Solid clinical knowledge of chronic illness and pain management desired
- Comfortable practicing in a rural or small-town environment
- Willingness to relocate or commute locally for long-term growth opportunities
