Retail Staff Pharmacist in Villisca, IA

Join a progressive healthcare team as a Retail/Chronic Care Staff Pharmacist based in Red Oak, Iowa, approximately one hour from Omaha, NE. This contract-to-hire position offers the unique opportunity to help establish a new Chronic Illness & Pain Management Pharmacy within an expanding hospital system. Ideal for pharmacists passionate about outpatient care and chronic disease management, this role blends retail pharmacy expertise with specialized clinical services in a collaborative environment.

Location:

• Red Oak, Iowa (Approx. 1 hour from Omaha, NE)

Shift:

• Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Assist in launching and supporting a Chronic Care/Pain Management Pharmacy on-site
• Deliver high-quality outpatient and retail pharmacy services to patients
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and care teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes
• Provide patient counseling focused on managing chronic illnesses
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards
• Participate in workflow improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure
• Experience in retail and/or outpatient pharmacy settings required
• Ambulatory Care experience is strongly preferred
• Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) highly desirable
• Clinical expertise in chronic illness and pain management is a plus
• Comfortable practicing in a rural or small-town environment
• Local candidates or those willing to relocate encouraged to apply

Technology Skills:

• Experience with Cerner and ScriptPro pharmacy systems preferred
