An expanding healthcare organization in a rural community is seeking a Retail / Chronic Care Staff Pharmacist to support the launch of a new Chronic Illness & Pain Management Pharmacy. This role offers an exceptional chance to help establish specialized outpatient pharmacy services while working closely with clinical teams to improve patient outcomes.
Location: Red Oak, Iowa (approximately 1 hour from Omaha, NE)
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development and launch of the Chronic Care/Pain Management Pharmacy
- Provide high-quality retail and outpatient pharmacy services to patients in the community
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and care teams to optimize medication therapy and improve chronic disease management
- Deliver thorough patient counseling focused on chronic illness and pain management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards within the pharmacy
- Assist in workflow optimization to enhance operational efficiency
- Utilize pharmacy technologies such as Cerner and ScriptPro to streamline daily operations
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure
- Experience in retail and/or outpatient pharmacy settings required
- Ambulatory care experience strongly preferred
- Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) highly desirable
- Strong clinical knowledge related to chronic illness and pain management is a plus
- Adaptable to working in a rural or small-town environment
- Open to local candidates or pharmacists willing to relocate for long-term career growth
