A unique opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist experienced in retail pharmacy to work night shifts at a 250-bed community hospital with an attached outpatient pharmacy. This contract position requires a candidate with specific expertise in PioneerRX and preferably some familiarity with EPIC systems. The role is based in Salinas, CA, offering a focused night schedule and the chance to play a key role as the sole pharmacist on night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage dispensing and verification of medications during the night shift
  • Collaborate closely with a pharmacy technician to ensure patient safety and medication accuracy
  • Utilize PioneerRX as the primary pharmacy information system; EPIC knowledge is advantageous
  • Provide clinical support and counseling to patients in the outpatient pharmacy setting
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Pharmacist License required
  • Strong retail pharmacy experience is essential
  • Full-time availability, willing to work nights exclusively
  • Proficient in PioneerRX software; EPIC experience is a plus
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Schedule:

  • Night shifts, 7 days on followed by 7 days off
  • Shift hours: 9:00 pm to 7:30 am

Location:

  • Salinas, California
  • Community hospital with outpatient pharmacy services

This contract engagement is approximately 13 weeks. Immediate start is preferred.
