A hospital-based pharmacist role is available starting June 1st, providing pharmaceutical care that ensures safe and effective medication use. This position operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with coverage of every sixth weekend followed by subsequent days off during the week. The assignment is contract-based and located in Lancaster, OH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, interpret, process, validate, and dispense medication orders accurately.
- Monitor and manage patient medication therapy for appropriateness and effectiveness.
- Maintain departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with pharmacy standards.
- Provide drug information to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Respond to medical emergencies with drug therapy management, including medication preparation and supply assurance.
- Oversee daily pharmacy technician activities to support patient and organizational needs.
- Demonstrate values such as empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork in daily activities.
- Engage actively in quality improvement, safety practices, customer service, and sustainability efforts.
- Uphold organizational and personal commitments to compliance, positive work culture, and continual learning.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an American College of Pharmacy Education.
- Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Physical and cognitive requirements include the ability to exert medium work and employ analytical, memory, problem-solving, and collaborative abilities.
