Retail Staff Pharmacist - West Chester, OH

Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, ensuring safe and effective medication use for patients. This role entails monitoring medication therapy, dispensing prescriptions, and offering clear drug information to patients and healthcare providers. Adherence to facility policies and a commitment to teamwork and quality care are paramount.

Location: Lancaster, OH
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with every 6th weekend coverage (with subsequent days off during the week)
Job Type: Contract starting June 1st

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately review, interpret, and process medication orders and prescriptions.
• Monitor patient medication regimens for therapeutic effectiveness and safety, considering patient-specific factors including age.
• Communicate drug information effectively to patients, families, and medical staff.
• Participate in drug therapy during medical emergencies, including preparation and provision of medications.
• Oversee daily activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient patient service.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, quality improvement programs, and legal standards.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
• Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing required.
• Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with diverse teams and patients.
• Commitment to ethical practices, patient-centered care, and continuous learning.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Able to exert medium physical effort as required, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Strong analytical skills, memory, problem-solving, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
