Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Westerville, Ohio

Join a specialty retail pharmacy team focused on providing exceptional care to complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This per diem position is based in Westerville, OH, and offers an opportunity to apply strong consultation and communication skills in a patient-centered environment.

Location: Westerville, OH
Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Per diem availability, starting as needed

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage medications for patients with chronic and advanced disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
• Provide thorough patient consultations, ensuring understanding despite potential literacy challenges
• Demonstrate patience and compassion while interacting with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient populations
• Utilize specialty pharmacy knowledge to optimize complex medication regimens
• Work with Pioneer Rx software to accurately process prescriptions and manage patient data

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Strong experience in retail and/or specialty pharmacy settings preferred
• Proven ability to confidently manage and consult on complex disease states and medication therapies
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills with an emphasis on empathy and clarity
• Familiarity with the top 200-400 drugs commonly used in retail pharmacy practice
• Licensure to practice pharmacy in Ohio
• Experience with Pioneer Rx software is highly desirable
