Staff Pharmacist in Reynoldsburg, OH

Two Staff Pharmacist opportunities are available for a contract assignment from late May through mid-August at a well-established inpatient hospital setting. This role emphasizes comprehensive inpatient pharmacy practice supporting patient care and medication safety.

The ideal candidates will hold an Ohio Pharmacist License and bring hands-on experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations. Key skills include Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) verification, active participation in codes, oversight of sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding, solid pharmacotherapy knowledge with particular attention to antibiotic and renal dosing, and strong time management and prioritization capabilities.

Shift details are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with coverage required for every sixth weekend. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic health record/order entry system, with training available, and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.

Primary responsibilities include verifying inpatient medication orders, supervising compounding activities, attending to emergency codes, collaborating closely with nursing and provider teams to ensure optimal medication management, dispensing medications accurately, and delivering patient education as necessary. Pharmacy technicians will support medication preparation, delivery, and overall pharmacy workflow.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Ohio Pharmacist License
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Proficiency or willingness to learn Cerner CPOE system
• Demonstrated pharmacotherapy expertise including antibiotic and renal dosing
• Experience with sterile/non-sterile/hazardous compounding oversight
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with emergency code procedures
