A growing long-term care facility in Rogers, AR, seeks a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity with potential to convert to a permanent role upon successful performance. This position offers engaging responsibilities in a collaborative healthcare environment supporting patient wellness through expert medication management and pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patient medication use for adherence and potential overuse.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential patient records.
  • Provide medication counseling including dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the usage and care of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications for internal and external use, and prepare sterile solutions following protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Arkansas pharmacist license required.
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with PV1 and PV2 duties, including intravenous (IV) preparations, is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills essential.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends every three weeks

Location:

  • Rogers, Arkansas (approximately 30 minutes north of Fayetteville)
