A direct hire opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to provide comprehensive medication management and patient support. This role focuses on delivering patient counseling, ensuring prescription accuracy, and collaborating with healthcare providers in a high-volume pharmacy environment.
Location:
- Saint Charles, Missouri
Responsibilities:
- Offer proactive patient counseling and medication education over the phone, addressing inquiries about new prescriptions, refills, side effects, medication adherence, and proper use.
- Work closely with prescribers and their offices to clarify prescriptions and resolve clinical issues that could delay medication dispensing.
- Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, and confirm dosing accuracy.
- Conduct pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a closed-door, high-volume fulfillment setting, ensuring accuracy of drug, dose, quantity, and labeling prior to dispensing.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with receiving, processing, and transferring patient prescriptions, taking ownership of the transfer process from start to finish.
Qualifications:
- Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Missouri.
- Experience in pharmacy practice preferred, including retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy settings; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and support patients remotely.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
